Pichu stores electricity in the sacs on its cheeks but discharges it inadvertently when agitated or excited. Being yet immature, the Pokémon's handling of electricity is rather inept.
Pichu is an Electric-type Pokémon. It takes double damage from Ground and resists Electric, Flying and Steel. Its base stats add up to 205: the highest is Speed (60) and the lowest is Defense (15).
It is the first stage of its evolution line, along with Pikachu and Raichu. Its ability is Static, and its Hidden Ability is Lightning Rod. It cannot breed: it is in the Undiscovered egg group. In Scarlet and Violet it learns 7 moves by level-up and 34 by TM.
