This Pokémon becomes more energetic the more sunlight there is. The part resembling a shell is similar to silt and is slightly damp and warm to the touch.

Turtwig is a Grass-type Pokémon. It takes double damage from Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying and Bug, and resists Water, Electric, Grass and Ground. Its base stats add up to 318: the highest is Attack (68) and the lowest is Speed (31).

It is the first stage of its evolution line, along with Grotle and Torterra. Its ability is Overgrow, and its Hidden Ability is Shell Armor. It is in the Monster and Grass egg groups and can breed with 159 species. In Scarlet and Violet it learns 12 moves by level-up and 40 by TM.
