Poochyena is an omnivore—it will eat anything. A distinguishing feature is how large its fangs are compared to its body. This Pokémon tries to intimidate its foes by making the hair on its tail bristle out.

Poochyena is a Dark-type Pokémon. It takes double damage from Fighting, Bug and Fairy, resists Ghost and Dark, and is immune to Psychic. Its base stats add up to 220: the highest is Attack (55) and the lowest are Special Attack and Special Defense (30).

It is the first stage of its evolution line, along with Mightyena. Its abilities are Run Away and Quick Feet, and its Hidden Ability is Rattled. It is in the Field egg group and can breed with 277 species. In Scarlet and Violet it learns 15 moves by level-up and 37 by TM.
