Ghost
Since Generation 6, a Ghost type can never be trapped, so Mean Look, Shadow Tag and Arena Trap fail to hold it. When a Ghost type uses Curse, it pays half its HP.
Its attacks are super effective against Psychic and Ghost, and not very effective against Dark; they have no effect on Normal. On defence it takes double damage from Ghost and Dark, and resists two types: Poison and Bug. It is immune to Normal and Fighting. There are 65 Ghost-type species, 16 of them pure Ghost; the most common pairings are Ghost/Grass (10), Ghost/Fire (6) and Ghost/Ground (5). It has 34 moves: 17 physical, 10 special and 7 status.
