Mega Tyranitar is the Mega Evolution of Tyranitar. Tyranitar Mega Evolves in battle while holding the Tyranitarite, and returns to normal when the battle ends.

It keeps the Rock/Dark typing of Tyranitar. It takes double damage from Water, Grass, Ground, Bug, Steel and Fairy, quadruple damage from Fighting, resists six types, and is immune to Psychic. Its base stats total 700, 100 more than Tyranitar: Attack goes from 134 to 164, Defense from 110 to 150, Special Defense from 100 to 120 and Speed from 61 to 71. Its ability is Sand Stream, one of the abilities of Tyranitar.
